Dr. Bart Pion is a leading eye surgeon specializing in both refractive and vitreoretinal surgery. In 2002, he graduated magna cum laude in Medicine from the Free University of Brussels. Afterwards, he specialized in cataract surgery, retinal detachment, macular surgery and refractive treatments, with a strong focus on precision, innovation and patient-centered care.
His expertise is continuously enhanced through regular continuing education and participation in renowned international conferences. This keeps him always up-to-date with the latest techniques and treatments in ophthalmology.
Between 2010 and 2023, Dr. Pion was head of eye surgery at St. Peter's Hospital in Brussels. During these 13 years, he led a team of more than 20 ophthalmic surgeons and built a strong reputation in complex retinal and cataract surgery, as well as advanced refractive procedures.
Today, Dr. Pion performs vitrectomies, laser treatments and innovative implantation techniques at Focus Eye Clinic. This clinic is the only extramural center in Belgium where retinal surgery is performed in an outpatient setting, providing patients with fast and effective care without hospitalization. His dedication to precision, innovation and quality care makes him an authority within ophthalmology.
