Do I still need glasses after lens implantation?

Most patients experience a strong improvement in their vision after lens implantation, but dependence on glasses varies by type of artificial lens:

? Monofocal lenses

- Goes to correct one specific distance, usually for far away.

- Close reading or computer work still requires reading glasses.

? Multifocal lenses

- Correct both far and near.

- In some situations, such as very small print or poor light, glasses may still be useful.

? ICL lenses (for astigmatism)

- Correct cylinder defects and provide sharp vision at all distances, often eliminating the need for glasses.

- In rare cases, with very high cylinder deviations, slight correction with glasses may still be necessary for specific tasks.
