From when will laser eye surgery be reimbursed?

Laser eye surgery is generally not reimbursed by Belgian health insurance, as it is considered a cosmetic procedure. However, in some cases, such as very high myopia (-10 or more) or severe astigmatism, there may be partial reimbursement through mutual insurance or supplementary insurance. Some private insurances also offer partial reimbursement for refractive surgery, such as FemtoLASIK, PRK or ReLEx SMILE. Check with your health insurance or insurance company to find out if you are eligible for reimbursement.
