How long will I see halos after a lens implant?
Many patients experience temporary halos (circles of light) around lamps and light sources after lens implantation, especially in the dark. This is a normal side effect and is especially common with multifocal artificial lenses.
? How long do halos last?
The duration varies from person to person:
- The first few weeks - Most patients notice a gradual improvement.
- After 3 to 6 months - The brain often adapts and halos diminish or disappear.
- In rare cases - Some patients continue to experience mild halos, especially at high pupil dilation in the dark.
? What can help?
- Patience: Most people adjust without further intervention.
- Glasses or eye drops: Sometimes temporary correction helps with severe discomfort.
- Consider a lens change: In exceptional cases, a different type of lens may offer a solution.
