Which eye laser method is best?

There are several eye laser methods, and the choice for the best treatment is determined by factors such as nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), astigmatism, and corneal thickness. The most commonly used techniques are:

- LASIK - Most popular method with rapid recovery (within 24-48 hours). Suitable for most strength defects and less painful than PRK.

- SMILE ReLEx - Minimally invasive method with less dry eyes and faster recovery than PRK. Suitable for higher myopia (-1 to -10 D), but not yet for farsightedness.

- PRK/LASEK - Suitable for people with thin corneas or active lifestyles (such as contact sports). Longer recovery time (1-2 weeks) and slight pain in the first few days.

- TransPRK (No-touch PRK) - Advanced version of PRK without mechanical contact, suitable for thin corneas and extreme sports.

The best choice depends on your eye health and lifestyle. During a screening at Focus Eye Clinic, we will determine the most appropriate method for your eyes.
