Will both eyes be lasered at the same time?

Yes, in most cases both eyes are lasered at the same time. This has several advantages:

- Faster recovery: Both eyes recover at the same time, so you regain sharp vision faster.

- Fewer visits: You don't have to come back separately for the second eye.

- Better balance: You avoid a temporary difference in vision between the two eyes.

However, there are exceptions where it is safer to treat one eye at a time, such as:

- Medical indications where there is a greater risk of complications.

- Individual preference: Some patients choose to have one eye treated first and the second later.

With eye laser treatments such as FemtoLASIK, PRK and SMILE, the procedure is almost always done on both eyes at the same time, unless there is a specific reason to do otherwise. The ophthalmologist will discuss this with you in advance.
