Dr. Al-Sabai Nashwan is een vooraanstaande oogchirurg gespecialiseerd in refractieve en corneachirurgie. Hij voltooide zijn geneeskundestudies in 2004, waarbij hij afstudeerde met grote onderscheiding, en vervolgde zijn opleiding aan de Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) en Universitair Ziekenhuis Antwerpen (UZA), waar hij zich specialiseerde in oftalmologie. Met een sterke focus op innovatie en precisie, heeft hij uitgebreide ervaring in geavanceerde chirurgie, waaronder cataract, refractieve ingrepen en hoornvliestransplantaties. Gedurende de afgelopen 15 jaar heeft hij meer dan 10.000 oogchirurgische ingrepen uitgevoerd, wat zijn enorme expertise in het vakgebied onderstreept.
Sinds 2014 is Dr. Al-Sabai refractief chirurg in het Universitair Ziekenhuis Antwerpen (UZA), waar hij een referentie is voor alle types van gecompliceerde refractieve en uitdagende oogchirurgische ingrepen en regelmatig presentaties geeft. Daarnaast is hij actief in het geven van trainingen en presentaties op nationale en internationale congressen.
Sinds 2019 zijn Dr. Nashwan en Dr. Bart Pion mede-eigenaren van de Focus Eye Clinic, waar hij innovatieve behandeltechnieken toepast. Daarnaast is hij bestuurslid van de Belgian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (BSCRS) en sinds 2024 benoemd tot algemeen secretaris van de BSCRS. Hij heeft een sterke reputatie opgebouwd als refractieve en cataractchirurg en als mentor voor jonge oogartsen.
